Subscription Review: The Beauty Blowout January Fab Bag

Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. Wow, the last year flew by so fast and we have already begun 2018! It’s been a year that I started blogging and it feels awesome!!!

I am definitely going to try and become more regular in my posts, and will continue to focus on putting up content you guys love and appreciate.

Now, to begin the year, January 2018 Fab Bag! This month it reached me pretty early and was a great New Year present to myself.

Except for being a little larger than the usual bag, this brown textured pouch wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. Would have definitely appreciated something nicer for the first month of the year, but I guess it is ok.

What was in my bag:

  • Bella Voste Ulti-Matte Chubby Stick
  • Sugar Contour De Force Mini Bronzer
  • Nirvaana Handmade Soap
  • Best Seller Bonus: Veet Ready to use Wax Strips
  • Vedantika Herbals Lemon Grass Face Wash
  • Acnes Purifying Clarifying Face Wash

This month’s bag was stuffed to the brim. A nice variety of products, we had a nice range of skin care and make up.

  1. Bella Voste Ulti-Matte Chubby Stick

This month Fab Bag decided to give us a choice of not one but two products. They had various combos listed with either the 01 Rose Crush Bella Voste Chubby Stick or a Sugar crayon. Since I already had the same shade of Sugar Crayon, I had to choose the Bella Voste one.

Quite a pretty shade, I unfortunately know that on its own, this shade would wash me out, so I intend to use this in combination with another shade. The formula is beautiful, extremely creamy and the pigmentation is great too. Just wish we had more shade options with this one. Not really smudge proof, this dries down to a nice matte, yet isn’t drying out so is quite a good formula.

Price: ₹499

  1. Sugar Contour De Force Mini Bronzer

This was the second product of the combo I chose. They had a chose between blushes, highlighters and bronzers. I absolutely love contouring so though this would be quite handy for that and decided to chose this as part of the combo.

Highly pigmented, one has to be careful to pick this colour as lightly as possible but is a perfect contour shade.

Price: ₹399 for 4gm

  1. Nirvaana Handmade Soap

A handcrafted natural soap bar, this is enriched with goat’s milk which is supposed to be awesome for the skin. Honey is an amazing antiseptic and moisturizing agent so am sure this soap bar is going to be super beneficial to the skin.

Price: ₹200 for 100gm

  1. Best Seller Bonus: Veet Ready to use Wax Strips

Have received this one in the past too, but I guess wax strips are always needed. While I have personally switched over to epilation, a ready to use wax strip like Veet, always can be used. Received the Normal Skin Variant, with Shea Butter & Berries. It works like magic and can be super convenient as can be used at a home.

Price: ₹99 for 8 strips

  1. Vedantika Herbals Lemon Grass Face Wash

An ayurvedic formulation, this amazing natural facewash has the goodness of aloevera and lemongrass, known for their antiseptic, anti fungal and anti-microbial properties. A small sample size this is definitely convenient to travel with.

Price: ₹150 for 50ml

  1. Acnes Purifying Clarifying Face Wash

Again, an extremely tiny sample size, the bag wouldn’t miss these two tiny sachets. Don’t really think of this as a value add to the bag as it is too tiny a sample and considering it’s cost, I could have been left out.

Price: ₹5 per sachet of 3gm

The products of choice were definitely the stars of the bag, but as a New Year addition, this month’s bag didn’t really impress me.

Love that we could choose two products, and those who aren’t regular on Fab Bag will realize the benefit of buying the bag instead of the direct sugar cosmetic. But honestly, they are the only two products to be excited about. The tiny face wash samples are really disappointing, and though the Vedantika face wash is a good travel size, it really isn’t much to hype about.

Hopefully the Valentine edition with be better…
