Product Review: Pantene Pro-V Oil Replacement

I ain’t much of a hair care freak, maybe cause I don’t have that amazing hair, but I do take good care of my daughter’s hair. She has beautiful hair, down to her waist, silky and naturally straight. So naturally I have to additional care to ensure it stays beautiful. While I do try out several oils, she always has the complaint of her hair looking too sticky and oily.

Now through the week it is fine because her school calls for oiled hair, but over the weekend or when we need to step out she loves to flaunt her hair. Having such long hair, it gets easily tangled and unmanageable at times, and that’s where oil is the only solution. I have tried various serums but they just don’t seem to cut it, as the nourishing factor is still lost out, until I recently came across Pantene’s new Oil Replacement Cream!!

I am super impressed with this magical wonder and have become a big fan. I even started using it on my hair, cause it really is that good!!!

Something about the brand

Don’t need to say too much about the brand, everyone knows Pantene. Owned by Procter & Gamble, this brand is known worldwide for it’s amazing hair care products, primarily shampoos & conditioners. The brand only developed and spread over the 1900’s and made it’s mark world over for its Pro-V formula. There is no doubt that they are one of the top hair care brands across the world, and only keep improvising and innovating. Their latest innovation is what we are going to talk about today.

The Product & My experience

Pantene Pro-V Oil Replacement

I absolutely love this product and am super amazed as how well it works.

Packaging:

This is beautifully packaged in a golden tube with a convenient flip top lid. It is quite sturdy and of good quality and it is extremely travel friendly. Fortunately, the opening under the flip-top is quite small to avoid excess dispersing of the product as you really don’t need to much.

Ingredients:

Price:

Extremely affordable this comes in a 180ml tube at ₹150.

My Experience:

Like I mentioned, I never used too many hair care products, but I absolutely love this on my hair. You need a small amount which spreads easily through the hair, and this works more like a serum than an oil. It is easily absorbed and leaves no residue. It smooths the cuticles of the hair eliminating the frizz and yet not taking away from the volume, so the hair doesn’t fall flat. I do avoid applying this too close to the scalp, but in all honesty, I don’t see it causing too much of build-up.

I still feel it doesn’t provide the nourishment & benefits, an occasional oiling would, but it is an excellent replacement for everyday use. It leaves the hair looking shiny and frizz free. The best thing is it can be used on wet & dry hair and still give the same benefits.

Pro’s:

  • Extremely nourishing
  • Detangles the hair
  • Non-sticky
  • Travel friendly

Cons:

  • Contains Alcohol
  • Would have liked the ingredients to include more natural extracts
  • Can’t be used as a complete oil replacement when one ones to deeply nourish their hair.

I highly recommend trying this out. I know my daughter loves the feeling of this cream on her hair & so do I.

Rating:

9/10 as it really isn’t an oil replacement but definitely can be considered a hair-care essential.
