The Product & My Experience
Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil
Contrary to popular belief, facial oils can be used across skin types. The general assumption is if you have oily skin, you need to stay away from oils, but reality is quite the opposite. Facial oils can provide enough nourishment to the skin, so one’s skin refrains from producing excess oil.
This oil is an extremely fluid and light pale-yellow liquid. A couple of drops is enough to massage over the face, and it is easily absorbed in the skin. I have been using it morning and night since the past couple of weeks (may have missed a couple of uses in-between) and have seen a difference in my skin. In fact, I felt a difference in the texture from the first use. I woke up to plumper, more hydrated texture so oils are definitely becoming a staple in my skincare routine!
The oil claims to have a skin lightening effect, and considering the ingredients I would personally believe that claim, but as of now it’s too soon to see the impact on my skin though through the hydration it certainly brightens the skin. Turmeric is an antiseptic and well known for its skin lightening properties. Saffron & Sandalwood are known to lighten skin and help with fading of scars. Natural treatments always take some time and I look forward to it lightening the few blemishes on my face.
Turmeric Oil, Saffron Oil, Winter Cherry Extract, Curcumin Oil, Licorice Extract, Orange Oil, Chamomile Oil, Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, Lime Oil, Alium Cepa Extract, Piper Betel Extract, Laksha Oil, Cedrus Deodara Oil, Saussurea Lappa Oil, Katuki Oil, Rasna Extract, Shatawa Oil, Sandal oil, & Ashwagandha
I personally believe this was the only disappointment of the product. The oil comes packaged in a plastic bottle with a metal screw cap. It also has a stopper to ensure there is no leakage and it’s plastic wrapped. Sadly, when I received the product, there still was a wee bit of leakage and the oil had seeped through the cardboard packaging. The disappointment however is the dispensing of the oil. Now, this kind of facial oils are to be used just a couple of drops at a time, and with the kinda wide mouthed bottle, it’s extremely hard to dispense. It would have been much better if it came with a dropper.
It is available in a 100ml bottle priced at ₹250.
- Quickly absorbed
- Light on the skin
- Doesn’t clog the pores
- Give a brightening effect due to extreme hydration
- Packaging comes without a dispensing mechanism
Overall this facial oil seems to be an amazing product to try at a reasonable cost. With all natural ingredients, the oil comes with a promise of being good to the skin, though I would still recommend a patch test considering it is a mix of several oils.
This is a 9/10 in my opinion and if they revamp the packaging this definitely has the potential of moving further up the rating.
