Today I want to share with you a quick review of the Skin18 Masks I received as part of a trial pack. It was actually an Instagram contest which I won, and received 3 masks from Skin18.
Little about the brand
Skin18 is a revolutionary skin care brand with their focus on Korean Skin Care routines. They use natural ingredients and revolutionary ideas to bring the best skin care solutions to everyone. They ship all over the world. Headquartered at Hong Kong, Skin18 has warehouses in China & USA and are focused on provided quality products with quality service.
They also have a blog where they provide expert advice, tips and tricks to their subscribers.
Though they are most famous for their wide array of facial masks, they cater to all skin care including cleansers, scrubs, toners, serums, lotions, eye treatments, mists, moisturizers, sun care, etc.
Check out their website: https://skin18.com/
Last year they changed their shipping policy so now you would get free shipping only above a certain cart amount, which is quite disappointing as that can turn out to be quite expensive to order from India. They also have multiple freebie offers and run a bloggers program too.
The Masks I received:
I received 3 one-time use packs of their Beauty Friends II Coenzyme Q10 Essence Mask Sheet.
Beauty Friends masks are water soluble essence sheet masks designed to moisturize and condition the skin. Each type of mask includes different vitamins, minerals and concentrated plant extracts to help the skin absorb the goodness and target different skin concerns.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is found in the cells of our body, and are very similar to vitamins. Our bodies use it to produce energy for cell growth and maintenance. It works as an antioxidant, protecting the body from damage. It is also present in small amounts in a wide variety of foods, but levels are particularly high in organ meats such as heart, liver, and kidney, as well as beef, soy oil, sardines, mackerel, and peanuts. Coenzymes help enzymes work to digest food and perform other body processes, and they help protect the heart and skeletal muscles.
This mask is specially designed to help rejuvenate the skin, regenerate cells, clean and moisturize the skin.
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Ethylhexlglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Triethanolamine, Ubiquinone (12mg), Fragrance, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) fruit extract, Gastrodia Elata Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) fruit extract, Glycine Max (Soybean) seed extract, Malpighia Glabra (Acerola) fruit extract.
Instructions to use:
Special tips: This mask can be used cool or warm. To cool, keep refrigerated till desired temperature is achieved. To warm, place unopened packet in warm water for approx. 2-3 mins.
- Wash face and soothe with toning water.
- Apply mask for 20-30 mins by aligning against eyes, nose and mouth.
- Remove mask and do not rinse. Let the skin absorb all excess moisture.
My review of the mask:
The soft cottony mask is neatly folded inside the pack over a plastic base and is well soaked in the serum. It can be unfolded and placed easily on the face. The fragrance is pleasant and not at all over powering. The packet will have a lot of excess serum which can be applied all over the neck and décolletage area. Then it’s time to lie back and relax. It takes about 25-30 mins to dry up and the skin soaks up all the goodness. Once you remove the mask, you can feel the difference in your skin. The skin is plumped up and well hydrated. This plumped up feeling does last for a few hours but the hydration lasts much longer. The skin definitely looks brighter with the hydration but that’s a temporary feeling.
Overall I would recommend this mask for the occasional hydration our skin so desperately needs. People with dry skin will definitely see a difference, and people with normal skin will benefit from this occasional hydration boost.
Besides the hydration, one can’t really have any additional expectations from this mask, but Skin18 has a variety of masks available to target various skin problems so highly recommend trying them out.
