The Partyholic December Fab Bag Review

Another review for you all. This time it is for a subscription service which has been around for a while. In fact, it’s one of those beauty subscription services that really established the trend in India, and it’s also my first and longest subscription service. I am talking about “The Fab Bag”.

fabbag

The Fab Bag is a beauty subscription service managed by beauty experts with a conscious effort in making high quality beauty and skin care products available to beauty enthusiasts who don’t have the time or resources to try out all the various products available, so they can determine which are worth their time and investment. The team works in association with various brands to customize and deliver bags, on a monthly basis, to their subscribers that include 3 or more products which may be full sized or samples. The Fab Bag also have their in-house digital magazine which helps educating their subscribers on tips and tricks to make the best use of various products and keep them updated about the latest trends and fads flooding the market.

Though the Fab Bag primarily focuses on make-up, hair care and skin care, they occasionally include accessories and jewelry in their bags. The bags are priced reasonably and always include products way above the bag value, ensuring the bag is always worth every paisa.

They also have their own shop with amazing offers on makeup and skin care products, so if you love the trials received in your bag you know where to shop from!

The monthly bags are usually these cute delightful pouches designed to suit to the monthly theme and include products complementing that theme.

Now let’s talk about the December 2016 Fab Bag:

The Partyholic December Fab Bag is a shiny party themed perfect for the party month of December. They have multiple variants in Gold, Silver, Copper, Grey, Blue, Pink and Red and you can receive any one. I got the Gold bag and love it.

The products received are as follows:

  1. Be a Bombshell Lip Stain – Bash

Often, the Fab Bag provides its subscribers with a choice for one of its products. They send out a mailer the month before and provide a few options from which each subscriber can choose the product they wish to receive next month in their bag. This month they provided the choice of various shades of the “Be a Bombshell Lip Stains” and I chose – Bash.

It’s a bright orange red lip stain which is totally smudge proof once dry. Love the colour payoff and seems to be long lasting, yet to test this one out.

Price ₹750 for full size 3.2gms

  1. Iba Halal Care Nourishing Foot Massage Cream

img_20161204_191319746

Iba Halal is India’s first halal and vegan cosmetics brand. The products contain no alcohol, no parabens or sulphates and no animal derived ingredients.

The consistency of the cream is not too thick nor too runny. It has a nice floral scent as it contains Jasmine. It gets absorbed into the skin extremely easily and is quite nourishing. It claims to prevent cracks and enhance smoothness. The scent lingers on and it leaves a light cooling effect to the skin, so that’s definitely a plus point.

My first impression is that it’s a great foot cream and great for the winter months, but not really a massage cream as it is absorbed immediately into the skin and doesn’t really work as a massage cream unless used excessively.

Price ₹95 for full size 50gms

  1. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil

I am a big fan of Palmers products. Their Cocoa Butter Formula range is enriched with Vitamin E and does wonders to the skin. Have been using their lotions and creams for years and absolutely love them. This is a recently launched product in their range and am yet to test it out but the expectations are set high. It comes packaged in a travel friendly, rollerball bottle so can be easily carried around. The product claims to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, dry damaged skin, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles and can be used over the face and body.

Price ₹460 for full size of 60ml. A 15ml sample received.

  1. Natural Bath & Body “Thank God It’s Friday! Hair mist

img_20161204_235421508

A beautifully fragranced, spiced and floral scented hair mist to be used to liven up & freshen up your hair. This is to be used after a wash and can be topped up as required. The sample received is travel friendly and can carried around to top up as required because honestly though the scent is beautiful it really doesn’t last too long.

Price ₹525 for full size 100ml. A 50 ml deluxe sample received.

Overall for me the December Fab Bag is an average bag. It’s definitely worth a buy considering the “Be a Bombshell” Lip stain but the fact that they had a limited choice of colours, most being shades of pink or red, both of which I ain’t too fond of, took away that oomph factor of the bag for me.

The Fab Bag has been totally focused on lip products since the past several months, but mostly restricted to shades of reds and pinks and for someone who really doesn’t use those colours often, it’s quite a disappointment. Fab Bag, hope you are listening, need more brown and neutral shades!

That being said, the choice of products, quality and the bags themselves never cease to amaze me. Have been a fan of the Fab Bag for the past few years and am sure they will continue to amaze me to ensure my renewal once my subscription expires.

The Fab Bag is priced at ₹599 for a monthly subscription bag and one can expect at least double its worth in products.

You can also avail of wonderful price benefits on longer duration subscriptions and great offers on beauty, hair & skin care products for men and women in their shop at www.fabbag.com.

Please use the below link to subscribe and you can gain an advantage on the price as well as a bonus product for 6 / 12 month subscriptions.
